How to ACTUALLY get your workout in!

Why is it always such a struggle to work out at home? We can put it on the calendar. Have a video picked out and all the intentions in the world of getting up and getting that workout in but inevitably something comes up. A friend calls right when you’re about to start, the dog needs let out and then you realize that the laundry needs switched, and pretty soon you’re out of time. “Oh well, maybe tomorrow.” But tomorrow comes and it’s a similar story. Pretty soon you decide it’s easier just to not even try.
Something is different though when we plan to go to a class in person. When we put into our schedule a date with ourselves and other people, even if those people aren’t necessarily expecting us. Something shifts mentally. Now the workout is the reason, but the outing feels more important, more exciting. Something to look forward to, something you don’t want to miss.
Just the other day when I wasn’t teaching, I was looking for a workout to join. It was so nice to have a plan to leave the house, to join a group class and enjoy one hour with others working on the same goals. It was just the break I needed to help me feel accomplished and refreshed at the same time. Working out outside our homes, away from our work chores and tasks that need accomplished, helps break up the day and provides us an outlet. It provides a time out to let go of the stress from the day.
The connection we build with a group of strangers who are also trying to take care of their bodies is special Encouraging others, and being encouraged, lifts us up and helps us take our eyes off ourselves. We can build special relationships helping hold each other accountable and lifting each other up. There’s nothing like it!

God made us for community. Women in particular are created to work together. To need and rely on each other to accomplish what God has given us to do. Whether you go to a class at a local gym, private studio or a Faith Fueled class, there is community to be had. Don't get discouraged trying and failing time and time again going solo. Set yourself up for success and let others be a part of your health journey.
Find your tribe. Your community. People who will build you up and push you towards being your best self. Find those who will help you live your fullest life!
